What is a high level alarm?
A high level alarm is installed as part of a basement waterproofing system to alert property owners the pump station is not working effectively and requires intervention.
An intelligent high level alarm, such as the AlertMaxx2, take this one step further as it allows the pump station to be monitored remotely via Wi-Fi and potential issues to be flagged before they become a problem.
Why is monitoring important?
With the monitoring team on standby 24/7/365, they will be ready to address problems with the pump station anytime you need them. This Wi-Fi powered data stream allows our team to not only diagnose problems remotely but also allows our engineers to arrive with the required parts for a first-time fix. Whether you are at home or the other side of the world – we have your pump station covered for absolute peace of mind!
Why are we talking about them at the moment?
As part of British Standard (BS 8102:2022), there is a recommendation that all pump stations should have a high-level alarm. In some cases, this may be a specific requirement of home and contents insurance providers.
What should I be looking out for when I’m purchasing a high-level alarm unit?
• Does the unit have clear, understandable error codes?
• Can the alarm alert homeowners, even with no mains power?
• Can you receive SMS and E-mail notifications to alert you to potential issues?
• Is it loud!? If something is wrong – you want to know!
• Is it smart? – does it send data straight to a team of experts, who can help get the problem resolved quickly?
